Through Gottfried Semper’s classifi cation of the Stereotomic and Tectonic ‘schools’ of construction, further elaborated in Kenneth Frampton’s ‘The Case of the Tectonic’, we understand the site of the proposed pavilion as ahouses, and John Andrews brutalistic Stereotomic Gund Hall, our site and project began as a way to reconcile these two construction systems, in one project in a didactic, interactive way.
